Frequently Asked Questions & Policies
Find Answers To Common Questions About Our Pet Care Service
What areas do you service?
We provide vet tech & pet care services throughout Parsippany, Montville, and Boonton communities.
How many dogs can you walk at once?
We walk up to 3 dogs in a single family at one time. We never walk multiple families' pets at one time. So you know that when your pup is in our care, we are solely focusing on them and their siblings!
What are your hours of operation?
We offer services seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM. For specific scheduling needs, please contact us directly.
Do you require a meet-and-greet before services begin?
Yes, we require an initial consultation to meet your pet, understand their needs, and ensure we can provide the best possible care.
What types of pets do you care for?
While we primarily care for dogs and cats, we can also accommodate other pets. We have experience with birds of all sizes (from parakeets to Macaws), guinea pigs, chinchillas, rabbits, lizards, rats, fish and snakes. We always ask pet parents to show me their pet's care routine as each owner has their own way of caring for their pet. This ensures the pet's routine is as normal as possible while under our care. We are always open to caring for new species!
How are your staff members qualified?
Our team consists of experienced veterinary technicians and experienced pet care professionals who undergo thorough background checks and regular training.
My pet needs to go to the vet. Will you take them?
If your pet needs to see a vet while under our care, we will absolutely take them with your permission and keep you up to date. Being a veterinary technician, I could help bridge the gap between medical and lay language so there is no confusion among all parties about the care your pet is receiving!
What happens in case of a pet emergency?
We have established protocols for emergencies and maintain relationships with local veterinary clinics. We'll contact you immediately and seek veterinary care if needed.
Do you provide updates during services?
Yes! We send updates, including photos when appropriate, to keep you informed about your pet's care and activities.
How far in advance should I book services?
We recommend booking with as much notice as possible. We schedule 2-3 months out, and pencil pets in if care requests are further out than that. We do understand things happen and sometimes bookings cannot be made with ample time. In these cases, we ask that you let us know as soon as you know, so we are able to accomodate to the best of our ability.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Cancellations with less notice are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the total service fee. Care cancelled mid-visits are due to pay the entire service fee. This includes coming home early.
What is your inclement weather policy?
We walk or do visits in all weather. However, if it is dangerous to the caregiver and/or the pets, delayed and/or shortened visits are implemented for the safety of all. All clients will be notified of this change! Some examples of dangerous weather include, but aren't limited to: freezing temps (below 32 degrees), active snow/ice/thunderstorms, excessive heat (above 85 degrees)
I'll have people visiting during service times. Should I let you know?
Yes! Please let your caregiver know at meet and greet or booking time if any neighbors, friends, or family are stopping by during booked care dates. This way, we know others will be in and out of the home, and can plan accordingly. Additionally, if any maintenance will be done while away, please let us know!
Are you insured?
Yes! We are fully insured and Bonded through Pet Sitters International.
